Smylie Hall
In a feast of images from the last 1000 years of western art, we will explore how artists have brought the scenes of the Christmas story to life, and how these help us to understand the continuing relevance of the birth of Jesus in the 'little town of Bethlehem' to us today! The talk will last for one hour with time for Q & A. Drinks and nibbles will be served. Dr Nigel Halliday is a freelance art historian, lecturer and teacher. He studied the History of Art at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and then obtained a masters and a doctorate at The Cortauld Institute, London.
